A Young Leader is Equipped for Global Impact

Jenny helping a boy with disability during her internshipPrayer opens doors – just ask Jenny Romanow! Jenny is pursuing a Master’s Degree in developmental disabilities. But she was looking for a way to merge her profession with her faith. The Joni and Friends internship program was God’s answer to her prayer. Through the internship program, Joni and Friends’ Christian Institute on Disability equips college students and young professionals for Christian leadership in disability ministry. Interns first experience classes and training at Joni and Friends International Disability Center, then serve at a Family Retreat and on an international disability ministry outreach. “The experience opened my eyes and heart in a whole new way to the people the Lord Jesus repeatedly tells us to serve,” says Jenny. “I discovered how I can work out God’s calling on my life in real, hands-on ways,” she explained. “Now I’m integrating what I learned at Joni and Friends with what I’m learning professionally. God has merged my calling with my education and training. He has equipped me to share the love of Christ with people who have disabilities. My calling is certain – and now I am prepared!”
