God Uses You to Provide Miracles

Wilber receiving the Good News at a Wheels for the World outreach“I dove into the water and felt my neck crack. I floated upside down for a long time praying someone would rescue me. I held my breath and waited…” Familiar words, aren’t they? Yet these are not Joni’s words – they belong to 26-year-old Wilber Blanco in El Salvador. His diving accident resulted in quadriplegia, mirroring Joni’s injury exactly. No wonder Wilber couldn’t read Joni’s book fast enough at a recent Wheels for the World outreach. In the 18 months since the accident, Wilber has spent his days alone, lying in a chair in his grandmother’s house. His parents have moved out of the country, and Wilber longs to live with them again soon. But without a wheelchair, he has little hope for the future. Through you, God provided a strong, collapsible, travel-worthy wheelchair that will allow Wilber to rejoin his parents! But God had even greater things to give. Your support sends a Bible to every wheelchair recipient. And as the Good News was shared with Wilber, he eagerly received Christ into his life. “God saved my life for a purpose,” he said. “God uses Joni, and today I have learned that He can make something from my life, as well.” With Joni’s book and his new Bible tucked inside his wheelchair bag, Wilber has tangible proof that God is working on his behalf − and all things are possible!
